How do I add captions to a video on Workplace?

Computer Help
When you upload a video to your timeline or group, you’ll have the option to add captions. Workplace can automatically add captions for content delivered in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Vietnamese, Italian, German, Turkish, Russian, Thai, Urdu, Malaysian and Japanese.
You can also add captions manually using a .srt file.
Using automatic captions
To add captions using Workplace auto caption feature:
  1. From your timeline, group or News Feed click Photo/Video.
  2. Select the video you want to upload, then click Manage Captions.
  3. Click Auto-Generated Captions. Workplace will automatically recognize the language being spoken and create captions for you. This can take a few minutes depending on the length of the video.
  4. Click Preview Captions to play the preview video. When you’re ready click Done.
  5. Say something about your video and then click Post.
Download a transcript
To download the captions in .txt format:
  1. Go to the video post.
  2. Click on the video to enlarge it.
  3. Click in the top right and select Download Transcript.
Download and edit automatic captions
To download and edit auto captions:
  1. While in the Preview and Manage Captions window click More, then click Download Captions.
  2. A .srt file will download to your computer. Open this in a text editor, make your edits to the caption text and then save your changes.
  3. Click Upload .SRT Files below Uploaded Captions and select your edited .srt file that follows this naming convention: filename.[language code]_[country code].srt.
  4. Click Replace Caption File, then click Done.
  5. Say something about your video and then click Post.
Uploading manual captions using an .srt file
If you already have a .srt file that follows our naming convention and want to upload your own captions:
  1. From your timeline, group or News Feed click Photo/Video.
  2. Select the video you want to upload and click Manage Captions, then click Upload .SRT Files.
  3. Select the .srt caption file you want to upload and click Preview Captions.
  4. Click Done.
  5. Say something about your video and then click Post.
